Law of Attraction

“That which I give thought to, I begin to attract” -Abraham

The Law of Attraction, simply stated, says: Whatever you think about often, you attract into your experience. Whatever you give the majority of your attention to, you attract into your experience.

It is always working, whether you are aware of it or not. It even works whether you believe that it does or not! If you always expect good things to happen to you, they will. If you think you always have bad luck, you will.

I used to wonder if Law of Attraction really worked. I would ask myself why wasn’t I rolling in money because I was always thinking about money. My usual thought was, “I need more money. Where’s the cash?” I was thinking about it all the time.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX: I wasn’t thinking about HAVING more money or HAVING plenty of cash…I was thinking about the LACK of it. The Law of Attraction responded by giving me more EXPERIENCES of needing money and looking for cash. By giving my attention to NEEDING more money, I attracted even more NEEDING money.

Our greatest insight to this came to us through the teachings of Abraham, in a series of books and recordings by Jerry and Esther Hicks.

According to Abraham: If you think you’re broke, you are. If you think you’re prosperous, you are. If you think you’re sick, you are. If you think you’re healthy, you are. If you think you’re a loser, you are. If you think you’re worthy, you are. If you think you can’t, you can’t. If you think you can, you can. And on and on and on…

We learned that if you don’t like the experiences you are having, then you must choose different thoughts to give your attention to. When we began to focus our attention on what we really wanted, instead of what we didn’t want, our experiences began to change.

TURN OFF THE TV! ARE YOU KIDDING? When we stopped a lot of negative input, things began to change. When we turned off the television, stopped the newspaper, and quit discussing negative events, we began feeling better. When we stopped being sarcastic (about everything) and decided to focus on finding things to appreciate, we began to feel even better. When we began to feel better, we were able to change what we were giving our attention to.

We gave our attention to reading inspirational books, attending seminars, taking on-line courses, making plans, and joining groups (such as real estate investor clubs). We began to attract even better experiences.

BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL THAT BAD STUFF OTHER PEOPLE ARE ATTRACTING? We learned that everyone attracts into their own experience and they cannot affect our experience unless we give our attention to them. It was very liberating to finally realize that everyone can say, think, or act in whatever way they desire…and it will have nothing to do with us unless we invite it in with our attention to it.

When we finally “got it” that:

absolutely nothing is more important than choosing to feel good;

nothing is more important than attending to our own feelings;

we don’t need to approve or disapprove of anyone else’s behavior;

everyone is right, given their view of the world;

we don’t need to compare ourselves with anyone else’s standards or ideas;

we don’t need to give a rip about what anybody else thinks;

the Universe is abundant in every way;

then…we knew we could choose anything we wanted and life began to be fun!

To your success...
